Long story short, E36 M3 vs 944. I kind of want to try a 944 as I love Porsche, but have never owned one. It's also easier to find a clean 944 around me, while most E36 M3's are beat to hell and back with stupidly high prices.

The 2.7 V6 has oil pickup issues and is known for catastrophic failure. For whatever reason, K-Roll's dad hasn't experienced this problem, and likely owns the luckiest 2.7 Magnum ever.

The 3.5/3.6 and V8's never had issues anywhere like it.

I haven't had to work on it yet. Depends on what needs work, some can be done easily with your hands, others can take forever from what I've seen. If you're mechanically inclined, then all will be well, if not, you best be ready to learn, or Mechanics will take your money like Chinese takeout robs me of mine. -_-

Depends on what needs to be done, but it isn't that bad I don't think. Trans/Engine stuff will probably be the most expensive. I don't really have any numbers for maintenance cost, but I can at least say it'll be more than a regular car.

That's a very good price, regular 944s can be had from $1-6k in varying conditions. You gotta find the right one! S-models and Turbos will be higher.

In all seriousness I vote 944 because the US Spec E36 M3 was neutered.

I didn't know until recently that it wasn't just the M3's engine that was dumbed down. Lots of things were.

Get a 944 Turbo! It will be worth huge monies one day!
